More than 120 artworks of 30 south Asian artists exhibited at the Santa Monica Art Studios in Santa Monica, California.
SAAAF 2010 opening night was a dazzling event, draped on one of the walls was most apropos artwork for the "City of Angels" called "winged child" by Asad Hussain on an adjacent wall a glittering mesh and mirror Arabic calligraphy a verse from the Quran titled "Seek Knowledge" by Hayat Gul. Perhaps reflecting on the present global needs. Included were several prominent artists from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Pakistan.
A rollicking success was the sold out comedy show "Beo ke Saath" as the audience doubled with laughter......the multitalented Beo Zafar gave an astounding performance in five different languages and with her closing songs won the hearts of all. |
